LA Times Food Bowl’s finale Day 3 September 22nd, featured a brunch of tastings, music and live demos for all ages, including 3 cookbook signings and demonstrations by award-winning chefs Nancy Silverton (“The Cookie That Changed My Life”),Yumna Jawad ("The Feel Good Foodie") and Kramer and Sarah Hymanson (“KISMET: Bright, Fresh, Vegetable-Loving Recipes”)

For the first time an underage, accompanied by a parent was allowed in, with a Youth ticket.
DJ Francesca Harding from KCRW entertained guests with classical tunes from pop and rock hits.

Nancy Silverton was known as a pastry chef for Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant Spago before her cookbook was released,  THE COOKIE THAT CHANGED MY LIFE (Amazon.com)
Silverton made Carrot Cake with Brown Butter Cream Cheese Frosting in an electric blender. Her secret was to use carrot puree with cornbread for her Carrot Cake.
Silverton's 1000 recipes book also includes her own inventions as: Double-Decker Chocolate Cookies, Iced Raisin Bars (a better fig newton), and a Chocolate Brandy Cake (chocolate and brandy).
                                                                                         
Yumna Jawad's cookbook THE FEEL GOOD FOODIE has 125 simple, recipes that are all about combine Middle Eastern to Midwestern cooking.
Jawad's Shrimp Scampi has the classic flavors of the dish, but she is using zoodles zucchini noodles instead of pasta for a lighter meal.

Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson from Kismet Rotisserie in Los Angeles shared tips from their cookbook KISMET, which features over 100 recipes with Mediterranean flavors and vegetable-eccentric California cuisine. as "Salty-Sweet Persimmon Salad" and "Harissa Party Wings".
