 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, opened its doors today November 18 and will run thru Thanksgiving to November 27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center downtown LA.

                                                                                     

The 2024 Subaru Impreza hatchback has a new
11.6" touchscreen, sporty new RS trim and a 182-horsepower BOXER engine.

                                                                                     

Fiat has teamed up with Kartell, Bulgari and Giorgio Armani, to design a new version of the 'Cinquecento’ model of vehicle. An all-electric car that has a range of up to 199 miles.

                                                                                         

2023 model year of Kia EV6 GT is an  electric SUVs with high performance, which gives 576 horsepower and a delivery of 545 pound-foot of torque.

Visitors will be able to see the latest new products from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Charge Cars, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Electra Meccanica, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Hyperion, Hyundai, INDI EV, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Lucid Motors, Mazda, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Ram, Subaru, Toyota, VinFast, Volkswagen and Volvo.

from Italian design house Torino Design— The compact VF6 SUV gets a 107.5-inch wheelbase with a large center touchscreen.

                                                                                     

The N Vision 74 is a high-performance hydrogen-electric hybrid vehicle from Hyundai.

The show will offer test tracks and ride-along offer firsthand experiences with EVs, off-roaders.
Electric mobility takes center court at the 2022 LA Auto Show, and visitors can experience in-vehicle rides at various indoor and outdoor EV test tracks featuring Chevrolet, Ford, Genesis, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, VinFast, Volkswagen, and on the first weekend only, Porsche.

Adventurous ride-along will also be provided by Camp Jeep, Ford Bronco Built Wild and Ram Truck Territory showcasing the latest off-road capabilities of today's SUV and trucks.

The LA Auto Show will highlight Southern California's booming car culture in several ways, starting with a Cars & Coffee gathering during the event's opening weekend, November 19–20, where attendees can celebrate the diversity of LA's car culture while enjoying coffee from Little Lamb Coffee's converted mobile bus. Everything from American muscle cars to European and Japanese classics to low-riders and off-road trucks will be on display.

The Genesis G90 is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured by the Korean automaker Genesis, which is the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor Company, since 2015.

 

During Thanksgiving weekend, drifting demos will be held with professional drivers in Formula Drift cars roll into town Friday, November 25, and Saturday, November 26. NASCAR and Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will bring the excitement of racing into downtown LA every day of the show.
Defensive driving demonstrations from B.R.A.K.E.S., a leader in teen driver safety instruction, will be on site thru Wednesday, November 23.

                                                                                

Charge Cars 67 is a British brand from London, with only 499 cars manufactured. The Charge 67 electric Ford has 536 hp of power and 1120 kb-ft torque.

Originals and prints of motorsports paintings by celebrated artist Kelly Telfer will be on display, and Kelly will also offer painting classes on the weekends.
Porsche x Monster Jam will feature a Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo lined up against the biggest monster around: a Monster Truck.

TransAm Worldwide and Charge Cars will showcase what's possible when you combine the beauty of a classic car with today's automotive advancements.

                                                                                   

Czinger 21C electric race car is a 2.9-liter, twin-turbo with flat-plane-crank V8 engine, which was designed in-house by Czinger, with an 7-speed transmission, that sends power to the rear wheels.

A 1915 Detroit Electric will be paired with a 2023 C21 Czinger as part of the show's 115th anniversary, illustrating the journey automotive innovation has taken over the last 100+ years.
Toyota Sports Festival brings to life Toyota's Olympic and Paralympic sport partnerships and will take place inside Toyota's LA Auto Show display throughout the show, and outdoors November 26 and 27 on Chick Hearn Court.

World-first premiere, North American unveilings, test track ride-alongs and  car-culture experiences.
LA Auto Show 2022 features 36 premier automotive brands with growing interest in EVs, including recently debuted vehicles, and just announced participants Lucid Motors and Polestar Los Angeles.

Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience is a new exhibition developed in partnership with the National Geographic Society, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of of the greatest archaeological discoveries of Beyond King Tut, now on view until December 31 2022 at The Magic Box LA, 1933 S.Broadway downtown Los Angeles. The same exhibit had joint openings in Los Angeles and Vancouver Nov. 4, and there are plans for Atlanta, Houston, San Diego and San Francisco in near future.

Beyond King Tut will take visitors on a time-traveling journey flooded with sight, sound and intrigue through the world of King Tut—the boy who reigned as pharaoh of Egypt more than 3,000 years ago—and the discovery of his tomb and treasures in November 4 1922.

The discovery of the intact tomb of King Tut captured the imagination of the world, and the mysteries surrounding the tomb still resonate today. Drawing from the storied archives of the National Geographic Society, the exhibition combines the power of cinematic storytelling and soaring imagery made possible with state-of-the-art projection mapping to invite visitors into the golden king’s world like never before.

The objects in the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamen — or, as a new exhibition at the National Geographic Museum spells it, Tutankhamun — were meant to commemorate the Egyptian ruler’s life and guide him to the next one.
Since they were first discovered  100 years ago, such artifacts as the golden funerary mask of Tut, as he is more commonly known for, have attracted widespread interest and admiration. The exhibit “Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience” emphasizes nonmaterial aspects of the boy king’s significance. Its centerpiece is an animation of the dead king’s journey to the afterlife, as imagined from the text known as the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Beyond King Tut” was produced by the partnership of Paquin Entertainment Group, which devised the “Beyond Van Gogh” and “Beyond Monet” exhibitions, and Immersive Experiences, a firm whose creative producer, Mark Lach, supervised the design of “King Tut: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs,” an artifact show that toured between 2004 and 2012.

In the first room, we are introduced to Tut, who died at 18 or 19 years old, circa 1323 B.C., and the November 4 1922 discovery of his buried tomb by Howard Carter, a British archaeologist.

The museum’s 3D theater holds the simulated sarcophagus and an illustrated video lecture that sweeps across three walls. One of its themes is the way animals represented many aspects of Pharaonic Egypt and its ruler. The vulture stood for Upper Egypt, for instance, and the cobra for Lower Egypt; both were included in the regalia of Tut, who presided over the united regions. Also symbolic were 12 baboons, one for each hour of the late king’s supposed transit through the netherworld.

Beyond is a gallery that recounts Tut’s life, as told by the artifacts in his burial place, such as a knife and scabbard, a ceremonial staff with a curved head, and pottery embellished with hieroglyphics. Also displayed there is a family tree, based partly on DNA research that is ongoing.
The boy king, whose life story unfolds in this virtual-reality narrative, left an outsize legacy.
Tut, who left no heirs, was the last of his family to rule during Egypt’s 18th Dynasty. He was the son of Akhenaten, who converted Egypt from polytheism to the worship of one divine being: Aten, a sun god. During Tut’s rule, the traditional gods were restored, including Amun, in whose honor Tut changed the ending of his name, which may mean “living image of Amun.”

The cause of Tut’s death is unknown, but most scholars attribute it to natural causes. Medical experts have suggested the young pharaoh suffered from malaria or sickle cell anemia. Other research-teams believe King Tut died circa 1323 B.C.E. from a gangrene infection at age 19. The infection was possibly the result of a broken leg.

The ancient Egyptians believed that every living person was made up of three essential elements: BODY, BA, and KA for the afterlife.
They knew that the body would fail one day and die, but they believed the other parts of a person could live on. The BA was essentially a person’s personality. The KA was the person’s life force—it made life possible for the BODY and the BA.
Death occurred when the KA separated from the body. To achieve a successful afterlife, the BA had to be reunited with its KA.
Once that happened, the person could live forever in the spiritual form known as the AKH, or “effective being.”

Some of the objects from Tut’s tomb were exhibited at the National Gallery of Art and other American museums beginning in 1961.
The larger exhibition “Treasures of Tutankhamun” began its tour at the National Gallery in 1976 and traveled to six other U.S. cities. Such pieces are unlikely  to leave the Cairo region, where they will stay in the Grand Egyptian Museum, set to open later this year.

Tut-mania has inspired lots of pop culture, including “The Mummy,” a movie franchise that began with the 1932 Boris Karloff vehicle, and “King Tut,” Steve Martin’s 1978 novelty hit.

Last Saturday, October 29th, the 23rd annual Day of the Dead celebration took place at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. For decades, the cemetery became a place to honor those who passed away in its annual celebration of the Día de los Muertos, “LA Day of the Dead”.

This centennial festival is full of rich symbolism, the altars are covered with traditional gifts, food, and significant items from loved ones. Those who are no longer with us are remembered through prayers, storytelling and music.
                                                                            

The event was divided into two segments, a daytime celebration with family activities where presenters Anabel Muñoz and Eric Resendiz - here on stage with costume finalists.

Among the novelties that this celebration brought, was the first successful presentation of the new stage dedicated to children called "Calaveritas", which we are sure will impact culture and education for the new generations of Angelenos and their visitors.

The dancers paid tribute to great personalities such as María Sabina, leading the community altar ceremonies to the Maguey goddess, "Mayahüel", which was this year's theme. 

The black and white art exhibit of the Oaxacan, Sabino Guisu, altar-competition, dance-groups and UNAM art by Lore Eckelberry gave a full day of  festivities to thousands of attendees.
                                                                              

 The television star Tamron Hall presented the award for the "Best Day of the Dead Costume".

 
In early 2022, Hollywood Forever was designated a "Historic-Cultural Monument" by the Los Angeles City Council, following a unanimous recommendation from the city's Cultural Heritage Commission.

“Dia de los Muertos”  tradition holds that the dead return to earth to visit their living relatives, which can be traced to Aztec people in central Mexico.

The Aztecs used skulls to honor the dead a millennium before the Day of the Dead celebrations emerged.
November 2nd is an official public holiday in Mexico. November 1st honors deceased children and November 2nd honors deceased adults. 

Dia de los Muertos is one of Mexico’s traditional holidays reuniting and honoring beloved ancestors, family and friends.

It's believed that although these relatives can’t see them, they can feel them. 

It's a night is an important feast and when family members share memorable stories that evoke the lives of their ancestors.

It's an ancient ritual when the living commune with the dead – a mystical night when the veil is lifted between their two realms and they may share a day together. The historical roots of this celebration date back to the pre-Hispanic cultures of Meso-America of the indigenous people, especially the Nahua (Aztecs, Mayans, Toltecas, Tlaxcaltec, Chichimec, Tecpanec) and others native to Mexico more than 3,000 years.

 The 2022 theme will be, Mayahuel – The Maguey Goddess:

Mayahuel is the Aztec Goddess of Fertility, the Maguey (Agave), and the ruler of the 8th day and the 8th year. She brings us Love, Magic, and Transformation. She has dominion over Earth, the Night Sky, Hallucinations, and Intoxication: The Centzon Totochtin, 400 Drunken Rabbit Gods are her children.

Mayahuel’s ancient gifts of the Maguey to the Aztecs included food, shelter, drink, medicine, soap, cloth, thread, needle, baskets, blankets, and paper. Her thorns were used as ritual bloodletting instruments.

Psychologists lately confirm what the Aztecs always knew: Mayahuel eases our grief and comforts our miseries with her gifts of Mezcal and pulque, the transformative foaming “honey water”, sometimes containing mushrooms, consumed by the Aztecs during spiritual ceremonies and festivals, agricultural blessings, weddings, and fertility rites.

One of Mayahuel’s legends begins when Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god, falls in love at first sight with her as he ascends to the Heavens to battle her evil grandmother, Tzitimitl, a celestial monstress swallowing light into swirling darkness and feeding on the souls of human sacrifices.

Infuriated by the sparks of their passion, evil Tzitimitl pursues the Lovers back to Earth and upon discovering Mayahuel disguised as a tree, rips her granddaughter into a thousand shreds.

Grief stricken, Quetzalcoatl kills Tzitimitl, gathers Mayahuel’s scattered remains and buries them. Heartbroken, he stands guard at her grave as his tears fall on the remains of his murdered beloved. Touched by his sorrows, the other gods add hallucinogenic mushrooms to his pulque to comfort him.

Fed by his tears and their enduring love, the first Maguey (agave) plant sprouts on Mayahuel’s grave. The sweet sap of the agave is evermore the blood of the Goddess – producing pulque and mezcal to forever lesson our miseries and lift our grief.

This Día de los Muertos 2022, we acknowledge the griefs and miseries of recent years as we gather celebrate the Gifts of Mayahuel and summon better days.

The Grammy Museum at L.A. Live downtown opened Oct. 15th Bruce Springsteen Live!.
 It’s a traveling interactive exhibit, which will run through April 2nd 2023, and features Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s live performance footage, instruments, stage costumes and exclusive recorded interviews.

The exhibit Bruce Springsteen Live! is curated by the GRAMMY Museum Los Angeles, Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.
It provides fans with an intimate look into Springsteen’s creative process, shedding light on how he became—and remains— one of the greatest live performers in rock and roll history.

2021 marks the 35th anniversary of Springsteen’s first live album release, the exhibit explores the evolution of Springsteen through the decades and grants exclusive backstage access to Springsteen and the E Street band’s legendary performances.
Bruce first west coast show was as a touring musician at the Troubadour in West Hollywood in 1973 and he has since then  performed over 100 shows in the Los Angeles area.

The Grammy Museum’s highlights include:

• Danny Federici Accordion and 

• An Interactive-digital kiosk, that allow visitors to view Springsteen handwritten set-lists to create their own encores set-list - to compare with Springsteen’s original.

• Born to Run Esquire Guitar: A staple of Springsteen’s career, the modified Fender guitar was featured most famously on the album cover of Born to Run (1975), as well as Live 1975/85 (1986), Human Touch (1992), and Wrecking Ball (2012).

• Clarence Clemons Saxophone: Nicknamed “The Big Man,” the legendary saxophonist played alongside Springsteen for 40 years. Upon Clarence’s death in 2011, the iconic instrument was passed on to his nephew Jake Clemons who, since 2012, continues to use it in performance as the newest member of the E Street Band.

The grand opening of House of Barrie at 1921 N. Bronson Avenue took place, October 4th 2022, to promote storefront and recognize founder and owner, Barrie Livingstone.

Barrie is originally from Britain, and is a highly admired and talented interior designer and author who now lives in Malibu, whose talent has influenced across the world including to Dubai, Miami and Malaysia.
Barrie decided to expand his business by creating House of Barrie, which will carry outdoor and indoor decor, such as lighting, art, mirrors, kitchen appliances, bathroom accessories, rugs, candles and furniture.“We found that customers love to walk through and select things rather than swiping online. We have an interior designer so people can consult with me on their house and I can go to their homes and see what they need and are missing”, he said.

Since 1987, Livingstone has been traveling to trade shows from all over the world, to get ides for specific vendors and styles.
