Last Saturday, Aug. 8th, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the debut of
"Burgers & Beer" extravaganza featured all-you-can-stuff-in-your-face samples of
L.A.'s favorite burgers, along with limited samples from some of the region's best
breweries and live music curated by Spaceland Presents.

"Burgers & Beer" is LAWeekly's new celebration of burgers and beer pairing after Tacolandia's success. It attracted a more adult crowd than regular Beer Festivals in LA.

It is a powerful food-and-booze union, described as "Beer & Full Bites" because many of the 41 restaurants served full size burgers, not small bites. Homeboy Industries was the charity partner.
The festival's lineup included 41 restaurants, bars, food trucks and roadside stands and 35 breweries, many of them pouring as part of the event's partnership with the Los Angeles Brewers Guild.

Among burger selections included burger makers as Belcampo, Cassell's, Pie 'n Burger and Hawkins House of Burgers, plus a new additions including East L.A.'s now-permanent pop-up Vaka Burger, the bizarro burger crafters at Myke's Cafe.

Thomas Keller's legendary Bouchon and Hamburguesas Puntas Cabras, which recently closed its downtown location, made this event a rare chance to try their short-lived but much-loved burgers.
