PIPER-HEIDSIECK, the revered French Champagne house known worldwide
for the red of its label and the
gold of its wine, unveiled today the ”Red Carpet Ready” limited edition
magnum bottle that will be poured exclusively at this year’s 88th
Oscars® ceremony and Governors Ball, the Academy's official post-Oscars
celebration, at the Dolby Theatre® in Hollywood.
With
only 1000 bottles produced, the special limited edition magnum was
unveiled today during the Oscars Nominee Luncheon in order to give
nominees a ‘sneak peek’ of what they will
be drinking on February 28th.
An exceptional bottle for an
exceptional night, the PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvee Brut magnum was designed by
the 230 year-old French House specifically for the occasion with the
word “Oscars” and the number “88” forming a
golden “tiara” wrapped by hand around each bottle. PIPER-HEIDSIECK
believes that nothing less than a magnum is worthy of the grandeur of
Oscars night.
“We
are thrilled to celebrate a momentous occasion with a momentous bottle,
one that reflects the Academy and the House’s shared value of
excellence,” said Benoit Collard,
Global Executive Director PIPER-HEIDSIECK.
“These magnums are as grand and bold as the films and performances we are celebrating this year.”

The PIPER-HEIDSIECK “Red Carpet Ready” Limited Edition magnum bottle can be seen here walking the red carpet. As one of the evening’s “best dressed,” the bottle is met with flashing cameras as it steps out of the car and shows off its “robe” and adornments made especially for this big night, before walking onto the Dolby Theatre® stage. The visual and video are part of the House’s overall #PiperReady Oscars campaign.
PIPER-HEIDSIECK
Cuvée Brut is a classic, structured, full-bodied Champagne with
harmonious balance. The blend is mainly Pinot Noir incorporating more
than 100 crus from the Champagne
region in France. A clear, golden Champagne, Cuvee Brut’s delicate,
fine bubbles result from an extended maturation. A juicy, fleshy pear
and golden grape texture, the wine’s finish narrows to citrus and
grapefruit flavors.
A Grand & Bold Story with the Grand Cinema
From
the early 1930s, the house has long supported the grand cinema with
boldness and grandeur.
In 1964, PIPER-HEIDSIECK created a tailor-made 48-liter bottle to celebrate Rex Harrison’s Oscar for his role in My Fair Lady. In order to support the enrichment and preservation of film heritage, PIPER-HEIDSIECK works with the French Cinémathèque and the American Cinémathèque. It has also been the official champagne of the International Cannes Film Festival for more than 20 years.

“Red Carpet Ready” Raspberry Panna Cotta with Lychee-Champagne Gelee
will be served on February 28th during this year’s Governors Ball, the official post-Oscars celebration of the 88th Annual Academy Awards.
Yield: 24, 4-oz glasses
Lychee Champagne Gelee:
1/2 ounce sheet gelatin
7 fluid ounces
Piper Heidsieck Cuvée Brut Champagne
7 fluid ounces lychee puree
Fresh raspberries
Raspberry Panna Cotta:
1/2 ounce sheet gelatin
21 fluid ounces cream
1 cup granulated sugar
24 fluid ounces raspberry puree
First,
make the Lychee Champagne Gelee: Put the gelatin sheet in a small bowl
and add ice water to cover. Leave the gelatin until it blooms,
turning soft and pliable, 5 to 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, put the Champagne and lychee puree in a saucepan and warm, stirring, over medium-low heat.
When
the gelatin has bloomed, gently lift it out and gently wring to remove
excess water. Add the gelatin to the warm Champagne-lychee
mixture and stir until fully dissolved and blended in.
Spoon
the mixture into individual small serving glasses or bowls to form a
thin layer in their bottoms. Add a few raspberries to each
glass. Place the glasses on a tray and refrigerate until set
completely.
While
the Lychee Champagne Gelee sets, prepare the Raspberry Panna Cotta: Put
the gelatin sheet in a small bowl and add ice water to cover.
Leave the gelatin until it blooms, turning soft and pliable, 5 to 10
minutes.
Put
half of the cream and all of the sugar in a saucepan and cook,
stirring, over medium heat until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Gently squeeze excess water from the bloomed gelatin, add the gelatin
to the pan, and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in the remaining
cream and the raspberry puree.
Immediately
place the bottom of the pan in a large mixing bowl filled with ice
cubes and water and stir until the mixture feels cool
to the touch. Spoon the Raspberry Panna Cotta mixture evenly over the
Lychee Champagne Gelee in each glass and return to the refrigerator to
cool until completely set, 2 to 4 hours, before serving.
