This November 3-6, WestEdge Design Fair returns once again to The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, and bringing the best of designers,manufacturers and makers from across the nation and the world.
For three days, attendees will have an opportunity to shop from 150 exhibiting brands and products for the home, ranging from furniture and lighting, to kitchen and bath lines.
Anticipated to be the largest show to date, this year’s fair will showcase high-end international
manufacturers like never before. As Los Angeles continues to be recognized as an increasingly
important global hub for design and culture,
WestEdge is presenting one of the most sophisticated designs hailing from Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Germany, and more by brands like David Trubridge, Missoni Home, Minotti, Cappellini, Roche Bobois, B&B Italia, Tecnogas Superiore, and Tidelli.
Most their showrooms are located in West Hollywood LCDQ district.
WestEdge will also continue to celebrate the best in emerging design talent in its
MADE:MODERN section. This feature area, sponsored in part by Design Milk, highlights more
than 40 cutting-edge independent designers and makers of contemporary furniture and lighting,
including brands blankblank, M. Shively Art + Design, Phloem Studio, MOQU, Zia Priven
and Oso Industries. All items will be available for purchase with makers also accepting custom
orders on-site.
OTHER SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
Opening Night Party to benefit Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House
The show kicks off in style on November 3rd with an Opening Night Party to benefit Los
Angeles Ronald McDonald House. Guests will enjoy a festive evening of shopping the latest in
design, all while enjoying cocktails, fine food and a silent auction. The auction itself celebrates
Los Angeles’ growing bike movement and offers guests the chance to bid on 20+ unique
Schwinn Bicycles, each stylized by a different design personality or brand. Schwinn Bicycles
has teamed up with design teams from Pinterest, as well as designers Kelly Edwards of
HGTV, Gaurav Nanda of BEND, Estee Stanley and Brigette Romanek of Hancock Design,
designer and TV personality Nicole Facciuto, lifestyle maven Amy Devers and set
decorator Peter Gurski, among other taste makers, to offer lucky bidders one-of-a-kind bikes.
Proceeds from the evening will help renovate the 75-room Ronald McDonald House whose
mission is to provide accommodation and support to families of seriously ill children.
DIFFA’s Picnic By Design
In their first West Coast edition, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA)’s Picnic
By Design has invited leading architects and designers, including FORMA International,
FOUR Points Design & Construction, James Hernandez Interior Design, Inc., Nicole
Sassaman, Mindy Matouk, and Nadia Geller Designs, Inc. to create
spectacular, over-the-top picnic baskets and tables that will be displayed at the fair. Each basket
will be available for purchase as part of an online auction to benefit DIFFA’s fight against
HIV/AIDS.
On Saturday, November 5th from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Picnic By Design hosts an
afternoon of delicious food and fine wine in the luxurious WestEdge Outdoor Lounge.
WestEdge Lounge
This year’s interior lounge will feature a collaboration between leading international brands
Missoni Home, Roche Bobois and Bolon, all brought together with an extraordinary structure
designed by Los Angeles’s own Matt Gagnon Studio. Standing 16’ tall and covering more than
800 square feet, the structure will utilize 7,500 pieces of Alder wood that are assembled by
hand, piece by piece.
Culinary Highlights
Culinary Pavilion- New for 2016
WestEdge is pleased to expand the culinary stage programming with an official Culinary
Pavilion sponsored by Fisher & Paykel. This space will host a full schedule of daily
demonstrations and tastings, offering guests the chance to engage with luminary chefs and
experience cuisine from several of Los Angeles’ hottest restaurants.
Grilling Demonstrations
The WestEdge Outdoor Lounge will be outfitted with luxury grilling brands, including DCS,
Alfresco, and Wildwood Ovens. Each brand will put their products to good use throughout the
weekend with demonstrations and samplings, including an official Grilling Showdown
competition on Saturday, November 5th from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Jenn-Air Master Class Studio Educational Stage
The Jenn-Air Master Class Studio returns as the main educational stage where consumers
and trade alike will have the chance to enjoy a range of informative panel discussions and
seminars featuring leading industry experts. Topics include:
