PBS SoCal and KCET announce line-up for 59th annual holiday celebration live at The Music Center, Dec.24.

  (LOS ANGELES, CA)  Mezzo soprano Suzanna Guzmán and actor Brian White have been set to co-host the 59th Annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration, Monday, December 24 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tD-RSItBwh4
                                                               
 Admission and parking are free. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
Those who can't make it to The Music Center can watch the live broadcast on PBS SoCal and KCET or online at pbssocal.org. The program will encore on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and will also air on PBS SoCal 2 on Dec. 25 at 3 a.m., 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Dec. 26 at 11 a.m.

Highlights of the 59th annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration include the Daniel Ho & Halau Keali’i o Nalani, performing Ho’s original songs in English and Hawaiian with captivating hula choreography; Le Ballet Dembaya, a professional West African drum and dance company; Kayamanan Ng Lahi Pilippine Folk Arts, a Filipino dance company noted for its extensive dance repertoire, costumes and music ensembles, Lorenzo Johnson & Praizum, a diverse choir that appeals to people from all walks of life with upbeat, inspirational and positive hymns, including traditional, contemporary, hip-hop, R&B, Christian and gospel; and Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, a multicultural, all-female ensemble that continues to push and expand the scope of Mariachi music.

New groups to the show will include Infinite Flow – An Inclusive Dance Company, America’s first professional wheelchair ballroom dance company; Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, the largest majority African American orchestra in the country; Pasadena Girls’ Choir, a newly formed voice ensemble under the musical direction of Barbara Allen, whose past choirs have performed on television's  America's Got Talent and Dancing With The Stars, as well as at numerous L.A. County Holiday Celebrations; Paso de Oro Dance Company, performing regional dances in celebration of Mexican and Latin culture; and Tres Souls, a band that relives the vintage sounds and songs of the 1940s-1960s Bolero style popularized during the golden era of Mexican cinema.

ARTISTS PERFORMING IN 59th ANNUAL L.A. COUNTY HOLIDAY CELEBRATION:

• Citrus Singers is a 45-member voice and handbell ensemble from Citrus College.

• Colburn Concert Choir and the Young Men’s Chorus are the advanced vocal ensembles of the Colburn School of Performing Arts.

• Daniel Ho & Halau Keali’i o Nalani performs Ho’s original songs in English and Hawaiian with captivating hula choreography.

• Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles returns to the Holiday Celebration for the 24th year in a row to perform traditional holiday songs.

• Harmonic Bronze Handbell Ensemble, a music ensemble of 11-to-18-year-olds representing the communities of Acton and Agua Dulce, will perform iconic holiday classics.

• Immaculate Heart of Mary and Precious Blood School Children’s Choir is a dynamic youth ensemble with an arsenal of multilingual and multi-genre repertoire.

• Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles is the largest majority African American orchestra in the country, teaching inner city youth the great music of the world.

• Kayamanan Ng Lahi Pilippine Folk Arts is a Filipino dance company noted for its extensive dance repertoire, costumes and music ensembles.

• Los Angeles Chamber Choir performs classical, modern and sacred choral works from various periods.

• Los Robles Master Chorale is one of Southern California’s premier choirs hailed for its remarkable sound, striking versatility and commitment to commissioning new choral works.

• Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea is a multicultural, all-female ensemble that continues to push and expand the scope of Mariachi music.

• MUSYCA Children’s Choir brings together gifted young people ages four-to-18 to create a community of singers built on respect, love for music and artistic excellence.

• Pacifico Dance Company is dedicated to the preservation and reconstruction of classical and contemporary Mexican dance forms.

• Pasadena Girls’ Choir is a newly formed voice ensemble under the musical direction of Barbara Allen, whose choirs who have performed on television's America's Got Talent and Dancing With The Stars, as well as at numerous L.A. County Holiday Celebrations.

• The Spirit Chorale of Los Angeles is a professional ensemble dedicated to keeping alive the Negro spiritual along with jazz, blues and original gospel works.
