Quotes at the opening of the exhibit:
(Right)The Hollywood Museum knows how to throw a true Hollywood style gala. I wouldn't and, to the best of my ability, will never miss one," said Alice Amter (The Big Bang Theory)

"I am so glad I was able to share this experience with my daughters tonight," remarked Anson Williams (Happy Days). "The history we are sharing is amazing. Its like Disneyland for entertainment. You can't possibly see it all.  We will have to come back."

One of TV's most notorious bad girls, Alison Arngrim (Little House on The Prairie) comments, "It's a little like stepping though the looking glass. You have Judy Garland's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz" and Margaret O'Brien's child performer Oscar from "Meet Me In St. Louis. As a former child actor, I can truly appreciate the tribute to those pioneers who blazed the trails."

"I was one of those lucky few to actually be allowed to wear one of the Marilyn Monroe gowns at an event here at the museum last year.  You walk a little taller when you realize your wearing a 5 million dollar dress that has such a remarkable history," said Chrystee Pharris (Passions)

America's favorite girl next door, Dawn Wells (Maryann/Gilligans Island) said, "Ginger would have been at home here, surrounded by all the glamor that The Hollywood Museum has to offer.  I imagine, this would have exceeded the expectations of a Kanasas farm girl like MaryAnn.  Maybe I'll become accustom to this glamor as well, with my appearance on "Bold & The Beautiful."

"It seems as though my brother (Stan Livingston) and I have grown up on sets and backlots. I had the privilege of working with the great Lucille Ball on "The Lucy Show" and William Frawley (Fred Mertz/I Love Lucy) on "My Three Sons," so visiting the Red Heads Room, where Lucy actually became a red head and to see all the EMMYs that she and the show won, is of particular significance," said Barry Livingston (Mad Men/Jersey Boys). "Im glad I brought my own children tonight, to share this with them."

It is a new exhibit exploring one of the world's greatest acoustic guitar traditions, and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Hawaiian music and kicks off Mele Mei 2016 with Mele Mei In L.A. -

Slack Key Guitar at Grammy Museum

"A large part of our mission at the GRAMMY Museum is to honor all genres of music. We are excited to celebrate the diversity and revered history of Hawaiian music, and the important influence of the slack key guitar tradition."
said Bob Santelli, Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum
With a history that dates back to the 1800s, the unique sound of slack key comes from the resonance of the tunings and techniques that mimic the yodels and falsettos rooted in ancient chants that are common in Hawaiian singing. Through artifacts and historical instruments that trace the history of this Hawaiian music tradition, the Museum’s tribute to the slack key guitar serves as the official kickoff of the Mele Mei 2016 celebration in Hawai‘i.
"Hawaiian music is beloved the world over and we applaud the GRAMMY Museum for this new exhibit showcasing an authentic piece of Hawai'i's artistic heritage, the slack key guitar. Guests to the opening day celebration will feel like they have been transported to the islands, being able to relax and enjoy the beautiful melodies by some of Hawai'i's very best slack key guitar artists."
said George D. Szigeti, President and CEO of the Hawai'i Tourism Authority
Melemei.com (Music May) is a month long celebration of Hawai'i's music, hula and culture.
Music and hula events are at various hotels, venues, on the beach and statewide. From ‘ukulele to steel guitar, traditional Hawaiian music to slack key, island reggae to rock-and everything in between-Mele Mei has something for everyone.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK, the revered French Champagne house known worldwide for the red of its label and the gold of its wine, unveiled today the ”Red Carpet Ready” limited edition magnum bottle that will be poured exclusively at this year’s 88th Oscars® ceremony and Governors Ball, the Academy's official post-Oscars celebration, at the Dolby Theatre® in Hollywood.

With only 1000 bottles produced, the special limited edition magnum was unveiled today during the Oscars Nominee Luncheon in order to give nominees a ‘sneak peek’ of what they will be drinking on February 28th
An exceptional bottle for an exceptional night, the PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvee Brut magnum was designed by the 230 year-old French House specifically for the occasion with the word “Oscars” and the number “88” forming a golden “tiara” wrapped by hand around each bottle. PIPER-HEIDSIECK believes that nothing less than a magnum is worthy of the grandeur of Oscars night.

We are thrilled to celebrate a momentous occasion with a momentous bottle, one that reflects the Academy and the House’s shared value of excellence,” said Benoit Collard, Global Executive Director PIPER-HEIDSIECK.
These magnums are as grand and bold as the films and performances we are celebrating this year.

The PIPER-HEIDSIECK “Red Carpet Ready” Limited Edition magnum bottle can be seen here walking the red carpet. As one of the evening’s “best dressed,” the bottle is met with flashing cameras as it steps out of the car and shows off its “robe” and adornments made especially for this big night, before walking onto the Dolby Theatre® stage. The visual and video are part of the House’s overall #PiperReady Oscars campaign.

PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvée Brut is a classic, structured, full-bodied Champagne with harmonious balance. The blend is mainly Pinot Noir incorporating more than 100 crus from the Champagne region in France.  A clear, golden Champagne, Cuvee Brut’s delicate, fine bubbles result from an extended maturation.  A juicy, fleshy pear and golden grape texture, the wine’s finish narrows to citrus and grapefruit flavors.

A Grand & Bold Story with the Grand Cinema
From the early 1930s, the house has long supported the grand cinema with boldness and grandeur.
In 1964, PIPER-HEIDSIECK created a tailor-made 48-liter bottle to celebrate Rex Harrison’s Oscar for his role in My Fair Lady. In order to support the enrichment and preservation of film heritage, PIPER-HEIDSIECK works with the French Cinémathèque and the American Cinémathèque. It has also been the official champagne of the International Cannes Film Festival for more than 20 years.
