Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks unveiled its new 3,000-square-foot "Ray Vega Patio" March 7 2026, featuring design-driven owner Christy Vega to honor her late father. The project, which includes a retractable roof and outdoor bar, was designed in collaboration with architectural firm DU Architects and designer Rachael Goddard. The Ray Vega Patio was the restaurant’s parking lot in the past.

"Casa Vega has always been more than a restaurant,” said Christy Vega, who is third-generation owner and CEO. “It’s where Los Angeles comes to feel something — where Chicano culture, Old Hollywood, and a Mexican family’s dream intersect. My father and grandparents built this place with immigrant grit and relentless discipline. The opening of the "Ray Vega Patio" is my way of honoring my father".
